Dehradun to Haridwar, Rishikesh Metro Project: know the details
The very long awaited Dehradun to Haridwar, Rishikesh Metro project is all set to commence in Uttarakhand. The survey of this upcoming metro project has already begun . This survey will give out a comprehensive guide to pave the way for the interconnectivity of the three significant cities of Uttarakhand.
The Uttarakhand Metro Rail corporation (UKMRC) is building a subway system that will connect Dehradun, Rishikesh and Haridwar , the three major cities of Uttarakhand to improve the transportation for its residents . This major project will also greatly reduce the traffic on the road that is right now the major concern of many. The Haridwar- Rishikesh branch of the metro will run besides the highway connecting these cities.
There is an estimation that more than one hundred thousand people will ride the Dehradun-Haridwar-Rishikesh Metro corridor every day.
The Dehradun- Haridwar-Rishikesh Metro Rail Project plans to cover a total distance of 73 kilometers. As a part of this project ,a specific 10 kilometer stretch is included to connect Nepali Farm to the Vidhan Sabha In Dehradun
The contract for the initial phase of this project is handled by IG Drones , a leading drone technology and analytics company . They will be conducting a detailed topographical survey of the area using drones to create a comprehensive report for the planned personalized rapid transit (PRT) system in Dehradun.
The proposed PRT will connect important areas in the city like Panditwari to railway station, Clement Town to Balliwala and Gandhi Park to IT Park.
Gopal Sharma, a spokesperson / Public Relation Officer ( PRO) for the Uttarakhand Metro Rail project, stated that the Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) system will serve as a crucial connector to the upcoming metro line in Dehradun, as reported by Times of India.
The Uttarakhand Dehradun to Haridwar, Rishikesh metro project, scheduled for completion by 2024, aims to enhance transportation and boost tourism in Rishikesh and Haridwar. It will revolutionise the region’s urban infrastructure, providing seamless connections and improved mobility for residents and visitors alike along with giving a relief to the residents from the long queues of traffic.
