In Uttarakhand, the circle rate of land increased.

DEHRADUN: With a few exceptions, the Uttarakhand cabinet approved the finance department’s request to increase circular rates throughout the state.
Although the circular rates are updated yearly, Covid-19 caused the process to be postponed for the previous two years. The prices were changed in 57,000 locations in Uttarakhand in 2023. The circle rate rose in the majority of the observed regions by less than 50% overall. While the rate of growth ranged from 51% to 100% in 5,900 regions, only 2,850 saw a 100% increase. S S Sandhu, chief secretary of Uttarakhand, stated: “It is a lengthy exercise that involves numerous meetings.

The district magistrate reads the updates and makes a decision after considering several factors like registries and circle rates. Also, they go to websites that deal with the buying and selling of land to receive the most recent prices.
He said that a committee led by the chief secretary had been established to look into any concerns brought up in the state. After reviewing the situation, the committee would give the chief minister the information, and the necessary changes would be made, he said. Sandhu also made note of the fact that the beginning of significant projects frequently led to an increase in local land prices.
The circle rates, however, were either unchanged or decreased in several regions.

He continued, “We received a number of recommendations at the local level, and we organised several state-level meetings to look at the matter.
